MatchdayPay

Terms of Service

Effective date: 25 May 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of MatchdayPay, operated by matchdaypay.com ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the service at https://app.matchdaypay.com, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. The service

MatchdayPay is a web-based platform that allows football club managers to manage their squad, record match appearances, and collect player subscriptions ("subs") via automated payment links sent by SMS or WhatsApp. The service is intended for use by amateur and semi-professional football clubs.

2. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must provide accurate information when registering and keep it up to date.
  • One account may be used to manage multiple clubs or teams.

3. Subscription and payment

  • Access to MatchdayPay requires a paid subscription of £10 per month per club following the trial period.
  • A free trial is provided upon signup. The duration is displayed within your account settings.
  • Subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
  • You may cancel at any time from Settings → Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.
  • We do not offer refunds for unused portions of a billing period unless required by law.
  • We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

4. Your responsibilities as a club manager

When you use MatchdayPay to manage players and send payment messages, you take on certain responsibilities:

  • Player consent: You must have the player's consent before adding their personal data or sending them payment messages. By adding a player, you confirm that you have obtained this consent.
  • Accuracy: You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter, including player names and phone numbers.
  • Appropriate use: You may only use the messaging features to send legitimate subs-related communications to players who are members of your club.
  • Data controller responsibilities: You are the data controller for the player data you enter. We process this data on your behalf as a data processor. You must comply with UK GDPR obligations in relation to that data.

5. Acceptable use

You must not use MatchdayPay to:

  • Send unsolicited, abusive, or harassing messages to any individual
  • Enter false, misleading, or offensive player information
  • Attempt to circumvent or interfere with the platform's security or functionality
  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation
  • Impersonate any person or entity

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without notice.

6. Player data and messaging opt-out

Players who receive messages via MatchdayPay have the right to opt out of further automated messages at any time. Opting out stops all automated payment requests and reminders from the club. Outstanding payment records are not affected. Club managers can view opt-out status within the app.

7. Intellectual property

MatchdayPay and all related technology, design, and content is owned by matchdaypay.com. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service for its intended purpose during your active subscription. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute any part of the service.

8. Availability and changes

We aim to keep MatchdayPay available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may carry out maintenance, make changes to features, or temporarily suspend the service. Where possible, we will give advance notice of planned downtime. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental loss arising from your use of the service, including loss of data, revenue, or business.
  • Our total liability to you in any 12-month period shall not exceed the total subscription fees you have paid to us during that period.
  • Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Termination

You may close your account at any time from Settings → Billing. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, if your subscription lapses, or if required by law. On termination, your data will be retained in accordance with our Privacy Policy and then deleted.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify account holders by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
